This season's new releases are accompanied by re-vamped labels highlighting the work of local artist Anita McComas. The featured painting is entitled The Work Begins, Spring at Little Straw. Since choosing to settle in the Okanagan Valley in 2008, Anita has felt "inspired by the magnificence of the landscapes that I live in. It is incredible the amount of inspiration I draw from the mountains. I still cannot believe that my path in life has led me here, where every day I feel the energy to create, create, create!" A selection of Anita's vibrant paintings are on display in Little Straw's wine shop. |
Our new red blend, 2007 Cuvée Noir, is now available in our wine shop. This 100% estate-grown wine is comprised of Syrah, Cabernet Franc, Merlot, and Pinot Noir. It is being sold under our new La Petite Paille label which features a drawing of the native flora that populates our vineyard.

Little Straw will be attending the 2010 Vancouver Island Feast of Fields. This year's event will be held at Parry Bay Sheep Farm in Metchosin on September 19th. Feast of Fields are fundraising events organized by Farm Folk/City Folk. Their aim is to connect urbanites with the bounty and beauty of their neighbouring rural producers. Expect a "gourmet wandering harvest festival" with a wide representation of local BC farmers, vintners, restauranteurs, and other producers.
